fancy new link box -->

Please turn your attention toward the right-hand side of the page, where you will find my brand-new Campus Media box! Campus Life box coming soon.

My personal favorite would be The Heuristic Squelch, undoubtedly the best source of tasteless but informed college humor. The KALX website is also pretty cool, especially for those of you out of broadcast range from Berkeley, since there is live streaming right on the website. As for The Daily Californian...the Monday columnist is pretty good. You can be the judge of everything else.

(elephant)(grape)sine theta

Something very exciting happened today. Rock Band 2 was released, and with an amazing track list of over 80 songs, I can anticipate it being the reason I fail my classes this semester. OK, so I exaggerate a bit, but HAVE YOU SEEN THE TRACK LIST?!? It has "Man in the Box" by Alice in Chains, which is the song that was responsible for converting me from a Linkin-Park-loving middle-schooler to someone with actually decent taste in music. Although, if you are one of the aforementioned Linkin-Park-loving middle-schoolers, Rock Band 2 also has "One Step Closer." Also worth looking forward to is the Foo Fighters' "Everlong," undeniably one of my favorite songs to sing along to while speeding down 880. There's more, but I'll spare you the details.

Today's punchline was sort of lame, I admit. But if I start off with the best riddles, what will I have left? Here's a really stupid one that you'll never guess the answer to, just due to the overwhelming stupidity of it: what's big, red, and eats rocks?

HELLO:

I always have trouble with introductions. That's my excuse if this first post fails to make me sound as smart, witty, articulate, etc. as I would like. With that being said, I'm Elaine, the UC Berkeley representative for Platform One Entertainment. I'm not exactly sure what I'll write about here, so expect anything. Even as I say this though, I know I'm probably going to write mostly about music and maybe the occasional book.

I just thought of a corny idea that I may or may not follow up on. If I end every post with a riddle, readers (?) will have an incentive to either come back next time to find out the answer, or I guess they could just Google it. That's actually what I would do, but let's hope you guys have more patience than I do.

Here's one my math professor told my class: what do you get when you cross an elephant with a grape? Tune in next time if you want to know. :)
